I graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. I worked as a Clinical tutor and as part of an integrative Healthcare clinic before going into private practice 17 years ago.

I am passionate about helping people and  my training in Osteopathic Medicine taught me how to differentiate and manage acute and chronic conditions and knowing when to refer and when to treat. I soon recognised  that Osteopathy was only so much help for people that were either in chronic pain or dealing with chronic ill health. I wanted to be able to do more to help people so I furthered my education by studying a number of other approaches. As the brain and nervous system control every function of the body down to cellular level, NeuroScience and Neurology seemed like a logical next step. I studied multiple approaches to Functional Neurology for five more years where I furthered my understanding of traditional neurological diagnostic testing and advanced patented forms of testing and rehabilitation.

From listening to peoples medical histories over the years I realise that a lot of people are dealing with chronic ill health and while the conventional medical approach offers symptomatic relief many of the medications can have multiple side affects that over time can contribute to their illness pattern. A delicate balancing act between risks and benefits needs to be performed. Many patients have symptoms which are simply unexplained by the usual battery of tests. When no explanation is found they are often diagnosed with 'Functional'  illness  (Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Chronic Fatigue for example). Many people are given general medications such as pain killers, anti inflammatories or anti depressants to counter their symptoms but remain chronically unwell and unable to lead normal lives.

Over the years I occasionally heard of people making dramatic improvements in their health and wellbeing  with simple dietary changes. Despite an apparent lack of interest in these cases from many healthcare providers I sought to understand more about these safe and effective forms of treatment. Through many years of study, and by learning from Patient experience, I acquired a combined approach of Functional Medicine and NeuroFunctional Medicine with which to treat my patients. Training with and joining the Institute of Functional Medicine,  Neurolog Akademie and Neurolink I am now part of a growing community of like minded healthcare providers worldwide that are seeking to treat the root causes of ill health.

Optimal Health is a journey, it starts from where you are now. For some the journey requires just a few alterations to reach their optimal wellbeing, staying  there is the journey. For others the journey back to optimal can be longer and while sometimes the benefits are not immediate once they are felt the momentum to wellbeing can be life changing. Having seen what is possible by improving my own health, my families health and the health of my patients, I am keen to make these benefits available for others.
